The Cerebral Palsy (Spastic) Children’s Association of Penang (CPCAP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing academic, rehabilitation and vocational services for the development of individuals with cerebral palsy irrespective of religion and ethnicity.
Our goal is to help each child achieve the maximum potential and to enable them to lead full and independent lives. We focus these services by creating long-term sustainable educational, vocational and rehabilitation programs.We believe that these children have the right to equal opportunity to quality services. This will empower them by enhancing their abilities and knowledge; and to be an integral part of inclusive communities where they will lead their lives once they leave this centre.
We provide Special Education, Therapies, Computer Education and Vocational Trainings for them. Special Education is divided into Early Intervention Programme, Preschool and Primary Section. While, Therapies offered are Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Hydrotherapy. During computer education we train the students to use assistive devices to access computer, learn the basics of ICT, trainings on application of word processor, spreadsheet program and presentation software, simple desktop publishing software and internet access. As part of our efforts in preparing the young adults for open employment and sheltered environment we provide trainings in Practical Class and Sheltered Workshop.
